23:00 PM – Pick Up by private driver picks you up directly from your hotel or villa in Ubud . The drive east toward Karangasem takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours through empty nighttime traffic.
01:00 AM to 01:30 – Arrival & Guide BriefingArrive at the Pura Pasar Agung Temple parking area. Here you will meet your compulsory local mountain guide, check your equipment, receive a safety briefing, and complete the registration process.
01:45 AM – The Ascent BeginsStart trekking in complete darkness using your headlamp or torch. The first 1.5 hours take you up steep paths through a dense pine and tropical forest zone.
03:30 AM– Beyond the Tree Line (The Rocky Ridge)Pass the upper temple area (Telaga Mas). The dirt path turns into steep, open volcanic rock and old basalt lava flows where you will need to scramble using both hands and feet.
05:30AM to 06:00AM – Arrival at Crater Rim & SunriseReach the crater rim summit just before the sun breaks over the horizon. Your guide will prepare a hot drink and a light breakfast (usually eggs, fruit, and bread) while you enjoy stunning views of Mount Batur, Lombok’s Mount Rinjani, and the ocean.
07:30AM – DescentBegin the downward trek back toward the base temple. Navigating down the slippery, steep volcanic rock requires high focus and can take anywhere from to 4-5 hours.

11:00 AM – Drive Back to Ubud , meet your driver at the bottom parking lot for your return transfer. You will typically arrive back at your hotel in Ubud around 13:00 depending  afternoon traffic.
